We Found and Installed the Most Affordable Heated Floor System
Просмотров 113 тыс.День назад
Hey Gang! Today we're installing the heated floor for the bathroom. Not a bank buster by any means and for the price and amount of work we think this system is more than worth it. Just like we found out during our install, maybe it's best to spend the extra money for more speed and ease of install! LuxHeat called us when they received our order to make sure we had everything we needed for what ...

Hey Gang! Wow it feels like we've been making some serious progress lately, and we don't plan on slowing down! In this video we take our time and get the drywall dialed in as much as possible before our primer coat. We used PVA by Sherwin Williams, and it laid down beautifully. Smooth and great coverage. Followed up with a quick sand from our budget friendly sander, and 2 coats of Emerald from ...

Love your videos very detailed
I have been a subscriber to your channel for quite a while, and I have watched all your videos of the Dream Garage build. I really enjoy the content and the building processes you feature in your videos. I have learned some interesting and helpful things, as well as new techniques and perspectives. With that said, I am commenting on the portion of your video where you crosscut a piece of Hardie board, and the board was wider than its length. This was a dangerous cut and bad judgment to show it on the channel. No amount of experience will make that cut safe regardless of having a kickback or not. I was a prior woodshop teacher for many years, and the cut you performed would be considered dangerous and would be classified as a safety violation, which would bench any student in my shop. The blade height above the material would also be considered a safety violation, adding to the risk. Although I consider you a professional, it sends the wrong message to any beginner or novice woodworker that experience will allow you to shortcut safety. A safety minded approach prevents cuts and keeps fingers and needs to be emphasized. I say my comment with all due respect and only provide constructive criticism. Safety can never be over emphasized - you will always be better of safe than sorry. I will continue to watch the garage build videos and look forward to watching the main house build too. I really enjoy watching your channel.
Aren't all conventional levels filled with water?
Excellent work
Fill it beer and you've got an instant happy hour on the job site 😂
Nice you guys! Awesome job! Congrats Jordan! Helluva job Paul!!
Anyone who is watching the video here just because their builders sucked and disappeared , and you have to do it by yourself.
OUTSTANDING

All your content is 100% on point but the custom deck gutter is next level. It's a tough problem to solve and you nailed it. Well done.
caulk tubes upside down in water for large jobs is an absolute legendary tip 👌
What did u use to hide gap around fireplace
What is the difference between Lexel and Big Stretch? Why do you use one sometimes and the other at other times?
I love how easy you make that Triton product look. But how does a Joe smuck like me get ahold of it? I have not found it at the big box stores or online.
I dunno O dont think the egyptions had plastic tubing lol
great work Gents! Stellar ideas too ... super exciting watching the channel grow and CHEERS to your continued success!
IKEA is super affordable and smart. Pretty ok quality too. Nothing to be ashamed of.
You are all doing an amazing job. Every role in making these videos has to work simultaneously the entire time, especially the BTS to make a great video. This entire series has produced videos that people not only want to watch but keep coming back for more. You all should be proud of your work.
There's several ways one can use It... Thanks Dog
I use Them & have for a long time...!
Everyone is concerned about the sellout comments. Im concerned that paul spent the night in the shower 😂
Floor tile on the left.
That was a rooster I thought it was Paul stomach growling for another energy drink 😩
This is still a normal thing in Central America
Paul just take a double shot of your energy drink and lift that board like a young buck 😲
great job guys !
I like the pattern one best. Either one with look great though!
This was amazing! I'm sincerely impressed 👌👏👏👏🙏
Lot's of good details. I especially like the care taken around the base of the door opening. One additional detail that would have improved this: for the minisplit lines, separate them. Do one line per penetration. It's way easier to airseal correctly.
Too much risk to save a few hundred bucks renting a skytrack
Lighting is looking great!! Just curious, is there a height limit for a garage/secondary structure in your area? Keep up the great work!
👍👍
My husband and I are avid supporters of your channel and look forward to each new adventure lol. We usually go with more homogeneous surfaces, but this time we thought that the one with the veining was subtle enough to make it interesting, but of course we defer to Jordan's taste.
Yiu may want to test out the large skab floor for traction before you install. I eould get it wet and walk barefoot to see if you slip or not. The one pice slab would look great, i would just verify that you aren't going to skide around on it. Thats why bathroom floors use the smaller tiles. All if the grout lines create a gripping surface.
Im new to the channel and to building stuff learning lots from you guys, and i love the hat from stud pack 🙏 keep the good work. Blessings
TOO MANY COMMERCIALS..... NOT ENOUGH WORKING!!! Come on Paul, STOP trying to sell us stuff every other minute!!!
Great job guys. Flows like an HGTV show. Kept me watching to the end
I put a little 'compression' bend or 'overbend' the roof boot so it sits really flat or flush to the shingle. It wouldn't hurt to put a dribble of ext caulk under the bottom edge of the boot so it adheres nice & sits flat as well.
Sooo, in some other videos I left some comments about scaffold & plastic over the doors... don't know if it was ME... but hey, they got some other pipe scaffold AND plastic over the doors... ATA boys I ALWAYS try & do a little clear caulk at the top of fixtures CUZ... they will get a LOT of water over time. In cold weather climates, snow & ice will sit there & they WILL trickle to the inside of a fixture... even if it's a tiny amount
Tile 681859 with the waves will contrast the tile in Paul's hand to keep things interesting.
I didn't see Pauly 'prime' the backside of the sill piece... I think keying these pieces in are vital!! He does nice work tho
Pauly cleans out as he goes using one method, I clean up as I go just wiping w a finger, then apply the tile, then clean any that leaks out w a damp rag. Either way works Many tile outlets, Home Depot, Lowes, even regular tile shops, are not offering tile borders... so I have been using Terrazzo strips for years... aluminum strips in the tile dept areas... different finishes for your preferences. I use them on the vertical outside edge, thin set them in 1st, then start your walls. It leaves a perfect, clean & decorative edge. Put the trim edge on FIRST. Paul... much easier than after. I own about 10 garbage cans... couple different sizes also... I ALWAYS have at least 2 or 3 on a jobsite at the same time. I also have a few small pieces of plywood, 10-20% larger than the size of my cans. I use them ALL THE TIME as a work platform. Place the ply on top the can & place the tile cutter or saw, on the ply. Nice to NOT work off the floor on a million different things. They have diamond hole saws I like to use. I think the whole bubble is way too much... I like a 1/4 bubble or less for bottom piece, this way water still drains but bottles of shampoo, etc, don't lean too cattywampus. That bottom tile is only 3 or 4", so a hair of pitch is sufficient.
They make caulk tip covers that keep the tips from drying out. They are basically little condoms for your caulk 😅 i saved some money and just bought 100 pack of party balloons and it works perfect.
It's KEY... to 'key' in or 'prime the backs of large format tile... you do this, you will get GREAT bonding & WON'T be able to pull that tile off the wall.
I'm a 5 th generation painter. Worked with my dad for 15 years. Got to the point where we knew every single move the other person was gonna make next. Like one mind for 8 hrs a day 5 days a week. He passed away 4 years ago. It's nice watching videos of a father and son that obviously have the same type of relationship. Appreciate it while you have it. It's also nice that they do everything pretty much exactly the same as my family! My dad always said, half jokingly, a damp Rag is a painters best friend. But damn you and your behr paint!!!
Might even start using some of these videos for helping to train my new employees
